How to measure your pupillary distance (PD)
PD is the distance between your pupils in millimeters, and it's used to fit your prescription lenses correctly into your frame. Measuring your PD is very simple, just follow the 3 steps below:
Step 1) Stand in front of a mirror and place a small ruler over the bridge of your nose. (Make sure the ruler has millimeter marks)
Step 2) Starting with one eye, line up the zero mark at the center of your pupil. The mark that lands at the center of your other eye is your PD.
Step 3) Repeat this 2-3 times to make sure you get the accurate measurement.
Most adults have PD between 54-68 mm as a reference. You can also find a friend to help you read the measurement for step 2.
